Schanne to Coach at Can-Am Games

Kent, Ohio - For the second consecutive year, Kent State's Kathleen Schanne will coach the U.S. Under 21 Women's Team at the annual USA/Canada Field Hockey Challenge from July 24-29 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Schanne along with Jill Reeve of Miami, will serve as co-coaches of the U-21 American team, who will take on the U-21 Canadian team on July 25 and 29. They will also square off against the U-19 Canadian team on July 26 and the U-19 American team on July 28.
Preparing for her first season as head coach of the Golden Flashes, Schanne recently hired Richard Sutton as an assistant coach and Katy Tran as a graduate assistant.
KSU will open its 2006 campaign with a pair of home contests at Murphy Mellis Field. The Golden Flashes host James Madison on Aug. 26 and Albany on Aug. 28.
