Flashes to Continue Road Trip at Toledo

The Kent State University women's basketball team will take its road momemtum to the University of Toledo on Saturday (Jan. 27). Tip-off with the Rockets is slated for 4:30 p.m.
• The Golden Flashes (9-9, 5-2 MAC) and Rockets (7-12, 3-4 MAC) have each won three of their last four games. KSU has also won three of its last four road contests and looks to rise above the .500 mark for the first time this season.
• La'kia Stewart led both sides in points (16), rebounds (9) and assists (5) Tuesday night (Jan. 23) as Kent State stomped on Central Michigan 71-53 at Rose Arena. Kristin Peoples netted 14 second-half points, while Mallorie Griffith added 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Toledo reeled off three consecutive conference victories over Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Buffalo, before falling to Miami 87-77 Wednesday night in Oxford. Savannah Werner and Danielle Bishop each scored 20 points and combined for 19 boards in a losing effort for the Rockets.
• The Golden Flashes have won the last three meetings with the Rockets, but UT has won four of the last five matchups in Toledo. The Rockets lead the all-time series 31-25.
• Last season, Kent State defeated Toledo 85-57 at the M.A.C. Center.
