Golden Flashes Turn Sights Towards MAC Tournament After 3-0 Loss at Buffalo

Kent State earns the seventh seed
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Three first half goals by host Buffalo sent the Bulls past visiting Kent State University in Mid-American Conference soccer action this evening. With the loss the Golden Flashes end the regular season at 5-6 in the MAC and 7-10-1 overall. KSU will be the seventh seed in the conference tournament. Buffalo meanwhile improved to 4-6-1 MAC and 7-10-2 overall.
An early goal by the opposition haunted the Golden Flashes once again as they fell to 1-8 this season when allowing the first goal.
Ashley Turner started things off for Buffalo scoring just inside the far post off an assist from Brooke McCalla in the 32nd minute. Andrea Vescio took over from there scoring at 36:11 off another McCalla assist and again at 39:20 from 15 yards out to put the game out of reach for Kent State.
Junior Caitlin Hester (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington) took two of the eight shots to lead the Kent State attack. Buffalo attempted 17 shots for the game and also led corner kicks by a count of 6-5.
In goal, junior Kris Nelson (Springboro, Ohio / Springboro) made five saves while Amy Coron stopped seven for Buffalo
The seventh seeded Golden Flashes head to the 2007 MAC Tournament to face second seeded Toledo on Sunday.
