Flashes Take Momentum To Rhode Island Saturday

• Coming off its best performance of the season, the Kent State University women's basketball team (2-6) heads to the East Coast this weekend to renew an old rivalry with the University of Rhode Island (4-6) Saturday (Dec. 22) at the Ryan Center.
• The Rams lead the all-time series with the Golden Flashes 4-2. The two schools squared off in four straight seasons from 2000-2003.
• KSU downed Northern Arizona 76-53 Tuesday (Dec. 18) at the M.A.C. Center, for its largest margin of victory since Feb. 17. The Golden Flashes hit season highs for points scored, field goals made (28), rebounds (49), three-pointers (6), and assists (20).
• Junior center Anna Kowalska led the Flashes in scoring for the sixth time in seven games with 25 points against the Lumberjacks. She also pulled down 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Kowalska currently ranks third in the Mid-American Conference in both scoring (17.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg).
• After a 4-3 start, Rhode Island has not won a game since Nov. 28. The Rams have 10 players averaging over 10 minutes per game led by senior guard Safi Mojidi (31.8 mpg).
• The Golden Flashes are in search of their first true road victory of the season after setbacks at Temple, New Mexico State and Robert Morris.
