Peoples Named to Academic All-District Team

- Kent State point guard Kristin Peoples (Westerville, Ohio/Brookhaven/Arkansas) earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Second Team Thursday (Feb. 8).
A graduate student, Peoples holds a 3.93 grade point average in community health and her success in the classroom is matched only by her success on the hardwood. Peoples leads the Golden Flashes in scoring (16.5 ppg.), assists (83), steals (46), three-pointers (32) and free throw shooting (.766).
"Kristin is very deserving of this honor," said Head Coach Bob Lindsay. "She proudly exemplifies the meaning of the word 'student-athlete'."
On the season, Peoples has been KSU's scoring leader in nine different games and has eclipsed 20 points on five different occasions. Currently in second place at 8-2 in the Mid-American Conference East Division, the Golden Flashes are 5-0 when Peoples hits the 20-point mark.
Peoples was also recently named MAC Female Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Week on Feb. 2. As an undergraduate at Arkansas, Peoples carried a 3.94 GPA and graduated in three years. After KSU, she hopes to attend medical school.
