Rohan Named MAC East Player of the Week

- Kent State sophomore Greg Rohan (North Lima, Ohio/South Range) was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Monday (April 30) by the conference office. Rohan led the Golden Flashes to a three-game sweep of Ohio (April 27-29) by hitting .545 (6-for-11) against the Bobcats with three home runs and two doubles.
Rohan served as the designated hitter in the KSU lineup over the weekend, but has also seen time at first base and outfield this season. He recorded two hits in each of the Flashes' wins on the weekend. Rohan scored five runs in the series and drove in seven, while carrying a 1.545 slugging percentage.
In Sunday's 16-1 win over the Bobcats, Rohan belted home runs in each of his first two at bats.
On the year he leads the team with eight homers and 35 runs scored. Rohan is hitting .298 with 11 doubles and 31 RBI.
In conference play, Rohan is hitting .343 with eight doubles, six homers, 19 runs scored and 16 RBI.
The Golden Flashes have now claimed MAC East Player of the Week honors twice in the last three weeks. Kent State has won five straight conference games, improving to 11-7 in the MAC East.
