KSU Announces 2007 Soccer Schedule

Kent, Ohio- The Kent State University soccer team will make a number of road trips beginning in August of its 2007 season. The Golden Flashes will also host seven opponents at the KSU Soccer Field, opening the home slate against Wright State on Sept. 7.
The Flashes begin their season on Aug. 26 at area rival Cleveland State before heading to California to take on California-Davis and Pacific. KSU also faces St. Bonaventure (Sept. 14) and Maryland (Sept. 22) in non-conference road games. The trek to College Park, Maryland will mark the first meeting with Terrapins in school history and will be the first meeting with an Atlantic Coast Conference team since 2002.
Mid-American Conference play will start on Sept. 28 at Ohio. The Golden Flashes will face the challenge of playing seven of their 11 conference games on the road. Bowling Green, Toledo, Miami and Ball State will all make trips to Kent, where the Flashes are 9-2 against conference foes over the last two years.
Led by a six-member senior class, the Golden Flashes will look to rack up their fifth consecutive winning season in league play.
The 2007 Mid-American Conference Tournament will begin on Nov. 4 with the top four teams hosting quarterfinal games. The highest remaining seed will play host to the semifinal and championship games on Nov. 9 and 11.
