Paiement Places Top Ten At Wolf Run Intercollegiate

Kent State finishes in seventh
Zionsville, Ind. - Freshman Jean-Phillipe Paiement (Des Ruisseaux, Quebec) placed in the top ten at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate finishing in a tie for seventh in the 15 team tournament hosted by Indiana University at the Wolf Run Golf Club. The Golden Flashes finished in seventh place overall with a three round score of 887 (303-288-296) on the par 71, 7,195-yard course.
Paiement (73-70-73) closed out the tournament with a total of 216, six strokes away from the leader, after finishing with a third round 73 today. Senior Tom Ballinger (Mansfield, Ohio / Mansfield St. Peter's) recorded a 74 today and ended in a tie for 29th place overall with a tournament score of 223 (78-71-74). Fellow senior David Markle (Shelbourne, Ontario / Centre Dufferin) rounded out play with a score 76 giving him a 225 (75-74-76) and a 37th place finish.
Freshman Brett Caims (Courtland, Ontario) (77-73-75) equaled Markle's 225 carding a round of 75 this afternoon. Sophomore David Ludlow (Burton, Ohio / Berkshire) rounded out the performers for the Golden Flashes with a three round score of 228 (80-74-74).
Kent State finished two strokes out of a three way tie for fifth place with Kentucky and Eastern Michigan. Penn State won the tournament with a team score of 862.
The Golden Flashes return to action on October 7-8 at the Windon Memorial Classic in Glencoe, Ill.
