KENT, Ohio – Kent State Athletics announces a new way for fans to support student-athletes at home events with the Flashes Round-Up program.
In partnership with university culinary services, fans who purchase concessions will be prompted with an option to round up their order to the nearest dollar, with the extra cents directed to Kent State Athletics in support of competitive excellence initiatives.Â
"Every penny counts when it comes to supporting our student-athletes," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond. "The Flashes Round-Up program gives our fans an easy way to make a difference with spare change. When everyone chips in, even small contributions add up to something meaningful for competitive excellence at Kent State."
Guests will see signage at each checkout window and also be prompted by cashiers to round up to support Kent State student-athletes. By saying yes, the amount will round up to the nearest dollar, with the difference going into the general athletic fund.
Flashes Round-Up will be available at all home events in the MAC Center this season, beginning this Saturday, January 3, for the men's and women's basketball doubleheader. Concessions operate from the time doors open and throughout the contest.
Other ways to support
Fans can also support Kent State athletics through various funds, including excellence funds, individual team enhancement accounts, scholarships, and capital projects.Â
