Miller Named MAC Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - After just two weeks of collegiate competition, Kent State freshman Rachel Miller (Bathurst, Australia/MacKillop College) was named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday (Sept. 4) by the conference office.
Miller, who has seen action at both midfield and forward, helped the Golden Flashes to pair of victories at the Temple Invitational this past weekend in Philadelphia. In Saturday's (Sept. 1) 1-0 win over Lock Haven, Miller recorded an assist on the game's only goal.
In KSU's 3-1 victory over Penn on Sunday (Sept. 2), Miller tied the game in the second half with her second goal of the season. She then assisted on the Flashes' go-ahead goal scored by Nicole Leach with 17 minutes to play.
Just hours after earning the MAC honor, Miller ignited the Kent State offense Tuesday afternoon in a 3-0 victory over Ohio State at Murphy Mellis Field. Her turnaround backhand goal gave the Flashes a lead they would not relinquish.
In five games played, Miller has tallied three goals and two assists, ranking second on the team with eight points.
Riding a three-game winning streak, Kent State returns to action Sept. 14 at Northwestern.
