Miller Named Kent State Athlete of the Week

Sophomore mid-fielder Rachel Miller (Bathurst, Australia/MacKillop College) was named Kent State Athlete of the Week after scoring two goals and two assists. With two key victories this past weekend over Ohio and Missouri State, the Golden Flashes moved into sole possession of first place in the Mid-American Conference standings.
Against Ohio, a 3-0 Kent State win, Miller assisted on the first two goals before scoring her seventh goal of the season to put the game away in the games 55th minute. Against the Bears Sunday, she scored the game-winning goal in the games 27th minute. The Golden Flashes won 2-1 as all goals were scored in the first half.
For the season, Miller is tied for the lead on the team with Allison Kittelberger (Webster, N.Y./Schroeder) with seven assists. She is also second on the team in goals scored (8) and points (23).
Kent State returns to action next weekend when it travels to Michigan for a pair of games next weekend. On Friday, they travel to Mount Pleasant for a conference showdown with Central Michigan before their final non-conference game on Sunday in Ann Arbor against Michigan.
