Soccer Closes Out 2008 Season At Home On Thursday

The Golden Flashes host Buffalo at 3:00 pm on Thursday at the KSU Soccer Field.
SCOUTING KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes are coming off a 3-2 loss at Toledo last Sunday. Sophomores Annie Messer and Kelly Heaton each scored goals in the match for Kent State, while senior Caitlin Hester recorded her seventh assist of the year. Hester's seven assists are the fourth most in a single season at KSU and the most since Jen Frey had eight in 2004. She currently ranks third in the MAC behind Megan Amann of Bowling Green and Stephanie Janssens of Eastern Michigan who have eight assists each.
After taking just five shots all of last season, Heaton is ted for the team lead (Hester) with four goals scored this year. Messer, meanwhile leads the team with 42 shot attempts.
THE SERIES -
Kent State trails the all-time series 4-5-1, but has won the last two meetings at the KSU Soccer Field, including a 3-0 decision in 2006. This marks the fourth straight season the Golden Flashes have closed out the regular season against the Bulls.
SCOUTING BUFFALO
After earning back-to-back ties against Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan, the Bulls have lost four straight. Lindsey Bailey leads the team with eight goals and 19 total points this season.
