Flashes Tabbed Preseason Favorites

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Two days prior to its season opener, Kent State was picked to repeat as Mid-American Conference East Division champions and MAC Tournament champions according to the conference coaches' preseason poll released on Wednesday (Feb. 4). Central Michigan was selected to win the West Division.
The Golden Flashes were a unanimous choice to win the East, receiving 11 coaches votes. KSU finished 20-2 in conference play last season and went a perfect 4-0 at the MAC Tournament.
Bowling Green was picked to finish second in the East followed by Miami and Ohio. The projected runner-up in the West was Ball State followed by Western Michigan and Northern Illinois.
The Golden Flashes will play five games Friday through Sunday (Feb. 6-8) at the Stetson Leadoff Classic in Deland, Fla.
