Chafin Invited to USA Baseball Team Trials

DURHAM, N.C. Freshman Andrew Chafin (Wakeman, Ohio/Collins Western Reserve) was invited to the 2009 USA Baseball Team Trials to be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., June 15-24.
The National Team Trials will be comprised of 36 collegiate players vying for a spot on the final 22-man roster to be announced on June 24.
Chafin is 4-1 on the year and leads the team with eight saves and a 1.26 ERA. Against Northern Illinois April 3, he threw the final three innings for the save, striking out seven of the 10 batters he faced. Chafin also pitched the final 1.1 innings for the save against nationally ranked Ohio State April 15.
