Senior Jason Patton Named to All-Tempe Region Team

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior Jason Patton (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Perry) was named to the 2009 All-Tempe Regional Team. Patton joined 10 other players: five from region champion Arizona State, four from Oral Roberts and one from Cal Poly.

In three games in Arizona, Patton went 8-for-14 with seven RBI and four runs scored. He was a perfect 4-for-4 Friday night against Arizona State with four RBI and a run scored. In the seventh inning, Patton blasted a solo shot that cleared the right-field fence and landed in the freeway beyond the wall. In the ASU game, Patton was a triple short of the cycle.

The Golden Flashes went 1-2, losing Friday night to host Arizona State 17-6 before knocking out Cal Poly on Saturday 10-9. Kent State was eliminated 15-10 by Oral Roberts Sunday afternoon. Kent State finished the season with a 43-17 record, the third-most wins in school history. The team also set a Mid-American Conference record for runs scored in a season (542).
