Junior recognized for the third time in four weeks
KENT, Ohio – Kent State junior forward Debbie Bell (Hamilton, New Zealand/Waikato) picked up her third honor from the Mid-American Conference in four weeks when she was announced the Co-Offensive Player of the Week today.
Bell paced Kent State to a 1-1 week scoring six goals to bring hear season total to a MAC leading 14 this season. Bell did the bulk of her damage on Sunday racking up five goals in a 9-1 win over Missouri State. Her five goal performance was the second most in school history and matches the career high output she had against Ball State on Nov. 1, 2009. Her five-goal total is the most by a MAC player this season and is tied for the second highest single-game total in the nation.
Her 64 career goals also tie her for second all-time at KSU with Sue Jensen (1976-79). Bell is just one goal shy of Elsbeth Versterre's (1997-98) school record of 65.
Kent State returns to action on the road this weekend with games at Miami on Saturday and Ball State on Sunday.
