Women's Basketball Predicted for Second-Place Finish in MAC East

CLEVELAND, Ohio – In a poll of Mid-American Conference women's basketball coaches and select members of the media, Kent State was predicted for a second-place finish in the MAC East Division in the 2010-11 conference race.
Kent State garnered five first-place votes to help solidify the team's grasp on the second-place slot. Defending regular season and tournament champions Bowling Green was predicted to finish atop the MAC-East standings, while Miami, Akron, Ohio and Buffalo rounded out the MAC-East prognostication.
Earning preseason all-MAC honors was Kent State senior Jamilah Humes (Saginaw, Mich.), who led the Golden Flashes with 14.6 points, 3.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a junior last season.
In the West Division, Toledo garnered 40 first-place votes to claim the top spot in the preseason poll, with Eastern Michigan garnering the remaining eight votes for the division lead. Central Michigan, Ball State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan rounded out the list.
The Golden Flashes will begin the 2010-11 campaign Friday, Nov. 12 at Canisius for a 6 p.m. tip.
