Basketball Teams Win MAC Championships on Same Day in 2002
March 9, 2002 was a special day for the basketball programs at Kent State.
Despite having only seven players healthy during conference play, Bob Lindsay guided the women's team to its third Mid-American Conference Tournament title in five seasons as the team knocked off Ball State, 73-59, in the championship game at Gund Arena in Cleveland.
The men's team matched the women's feat later that day, capturing its third MAC Tournament crown with a 70-59 win over Bowling Green.
