Suitch Honored As MAC Defensive Player of the Week

Senior goalie recorded her 31st career victory on Sunday
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior goalie Caroline Suitch (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) was honored today as the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week in an official announcement made by the league office on Wednesday (Sept. 15).
Suitch earns the honor after she made nine saves in two games for the Golden Flashes which went 1-1 at home this past weekend. On Sunday with KSU ahead 2-0 in the early stages of the second half, she made three saves in a two minute stretch to help keep Iowa off the board and secure a 3-1 win. Suitch ended the game with five of her nine saves for the week. The victory marked win No. 31 for the senior goaltender ranking her sixth all-time in school history.
A business administration major, Suitch is currently fifth in the NCAA among active goalies with 3,211 minutes played and 13th with a 1.70 goals against average.
Kent State returns to action at home on Friday against No. 5 Michigan State at 2:00 p.m.. The Golden Flashes then host No. 13 Boston University on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
