Runyan Named MAC Specialist of the Week Again

CLEVELAND -- Kent State sophomore Lindsay Runyan (Maineville, Ohio) has been named Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week, as announced by the conference office today (Jan. 31).
Runyan earned MAC Specialist of the Week honors for the second time this season after garnering the distinction on Jan. 17 as well. Her award marks the fourth straight week a Kent State gymnast has received either Gymnast of the Week or Specialist of the Week honors.
Runyan tied for first place on the uneven bars with a career-high 9.925 score as the No. 11 Kent State gymnastics team placed second with a team point total of 194.675 Saturday (Jan. 29) in a quad meet hosted by Michigan at Crisler Arena. Runyan's point total is tied for the sixth-best in Kent State history on the uneven bars and is currently both the squad's and Mid-American Conference's top score on the uneven bars in 2011. She is tied for seventh in the nation on the uneven bars with a season scoring average of 9.875.
The No. 12 Golden Flashes open Mid-American Conference competition on the road at Bowling Green next Sunday (Feb. 6).Â
