Kent State Volleyball Loses To William & Mary In Four

KENT, Ohio -- The Kent State volleyball team fell to William & Mary, 3-1 (27-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-19) Saturday (Sept. 10) in the sixth and final match of the fourth annual Kent State/Mizuno Open at the M.A.C. Center.
The loss to the Tribe (4-4) dropped Kent State (6-6) to 1-2 and a third-place finish in the tournament. IUPUI won the Kent State/MizunoOpen with a 3-0 mark. William & Mary took second at 2-1 while Robert Morris finished fourth at 0-3.
The Golden Flashes were led on the offensive end by double-digit kills from junior Kathy Krupa (Burbank, Ill.) and senior Maigan Larsen (Lancaster, Wis.), who finished with 15 and 11, respectively. Freshman Liz Reikow (Holland, Mich.) led the match with a career-high 10 blocks (two solo, eight assisted). Sophomore Aleksandra Nowak (Damnica, Poland) led the squad with 37 set assists to go along with sharing a team-high 14 digs with freshman Bridget Grdina (Mentor, Ohio).
Kent State looks to get back on track Tuesday (Sept. 13) with a 7 p.m. battle at Canisius.
