Women's Basketball Announces Televised Games

Kent, OH - Kent State Women's Basketball will play two televised games during the 2012-13 season, the Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday. Both of the games will be carried by SportsTime Ohio at the time that conference play will be heating up.
On Saturday, January 19th, Kent State will travel to Ball State for a tip off at noon in its first televised game of the season. Then on Saturday, February 23rd, Kent State will host the Akron Zips in a televised game slated to tip off at noon.
Kent State will also be eligible for the conference's two "wildcard" games, which will be televised as well. Decisions concerning which MAC schools will appear in these games will be made 21 days ahead of time.
One of the six teams in the Mid-American Conference which is guaranteed to appear on television twice, Kent State joins Central Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, Eastern Michigan, and Miami. Ball State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Akron, and Bowling Green are all guaranteed one game on television in 2012-13.
For homes games during the 2012-13 season, Kent State will be following its pattern of 7 p.m. weeknight tipoffs and 2 p.m. weekend tipoffs with a couple exceptions. Sunday, December 30th's tipoff against Robert Morris is slated for 3:30 p.m. due to the 7:00 p.m. start time of the men's basketball game. The other exception is the aforementioned home TV game against Akron, which will tipoff at noon.
Kent State will play 14 home games and one home exhibition during the 2012-13 season. The Golden Flashes will welcome Gannon to The Convocation Center for an exhibition on Oct. 28 before opening the regular season by travelling to take on Massachusetts on Nov. 10.
