Niagara Falls, NY - Kent State's (0-7) three senior captains netted 67% of the team's 55 points, but Niagara (3-3) was too much to handle resulting in the Flashes' seventh-straight loss. Niagara finished with 82 points.
Tamzin Barroilhet had a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds for Kent State. Trisha Krewson and Diamon Beckford also scored in double-digits, scoring 13 and ten points respectively.
However, as the story goes this season for the Flashes, the team matched their season average in turnovers with 24 on the night. Those turnovers resulted in 34 points for the Purple Eagles. Kent State also shot just 33.9% from the field.
Kent State kept it close at the start, notching the score at 11 a piece to go into the first media timeout. But by the end of the half, the Flashes found themselves in a eight point deficit, down 35-27, that they could not overcome.
Niagara center Lauren Gatto found success in the paint, scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Chanel Johnson had 16 points for the Purple Eagles.
Kent State takes a break from the road and returns home for two games in the upcoming week. They host Temple on Thursday (Dec. 6) at 7:00 pm and then play host to Western Kentucky the following Sunday (Dec. 9). Fans can get into Sunday's game free with a ticket from the game on Dec. 6.
