Kent State Returns To Action Thursday Night Against Saint Francis At The M.A.C. Center

Kent State (5-5) will try to end a three-game losing streak on Thursday night when it returns home to face Saint Francis at the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes have been off for 11 days since losing at Xavier on Dec. 9. Thursday opens a three-game homestand that includes visits from Arkansas State on Saturday and Fairmont State on Dec. 30. The team will have eight days off for Christmas break following Saturday's game.
Seniors Chris Evans (16.0) and Randal Holt (13.4) lead the Golden Flashes in scoring. Evans also leads the Golden Flashes in rebounds (7.3), steals (2.4) and blocked shots (0.8).
Junior Melvin Tabb recorded career highs in scoring (20) and rebounding (14) in the Dec. 9 loss at Xavier. That game was also his second start in a row replacing the injured Chris Ortiz.
Saint Francis is off to an 0-9 start that includes a 76-49 home loss to Bucknell on Monday. Kent State and Saint Francis have two common opponents this season. Along with Bucknell, the Red Flash also lost at Youngstown State 75-60. Kent State lost at Bucknell 72-60 on Dec. 4, but won at Youngstown State, 85-78 in overtime.
