Final Week Of Regular Season Starts on Wednesday As Kent State Welcomes Ohio

The Game
Kent State (19-9; 9-5 MAC) returns home for the final two regular season games this week looking to secure one of the top four seeds and guarantee a bye to at least the quarterfinals in the upcoming MAC Tournament. The Golden Flashes quest begins on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm against Ohio (23-6; 10-4 MAC).
Kent State begins Wednesday night in fourth place in the Mid-American Conference East Division and overall standings one game back of Ohio and Buffalo for second overall and one game ahead of Bowling Green and West Division leader Eastern Michigan.
A perfect 6-0 against MAC opponents at home this season, the Golden Flashes are looking to end a three game losing streak that includes a 74-58 road loss at Bowling Green on Saturday.
Averaging a team best 15.9 points per game in league play, senior forward Justin Greene achieved another career milestone last time out as he moved into second place on Kent State's all-time rebounding list. Greene, who is averaging a point more per game vs MAC opponents this year (15.9) compared to last (14.9), also moved up to seventh on the Golden Flashes career scoring list.
Senior guard Carlton Guyton meanwhile had a team high 17 points vs Bowling Green and is averaging 13.7 points over the last seven games.
Ohio has won four straight including an 85-61 win over Akron on Sunday. The Bobcats' D.J. Cooper had 11 points & 10 assists in the win and leads the team with 13.8 points and 5.7 assists on the year
