Grimes Named to MAC All-Tournament Team

AKRON, Ohio-Â Following the conclusion of the Mid-American Conference Softball Championships on Saturday, the MAC released its all-tournament team, which included Kent State's junior center fielder Lauren Grimes (Tallmadge, Ohio).
In three tournament games, Grimes hit .556 (5-for-9) with a walk, a home run, a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. In the Golden Flashes' win over Ohio, her two-run, first-inning homer, gave Kent State a lead it would not give up.
Following three seasons with Kent State, Grimes ranks fourth in career runs scored with 113. Her 18 home runs rank eighth in program history and her 33 doubles are tied for seventh.
The Golden Flashes were among the final six teams standing at the conference tournament for the seventh consecutive season. Â
