Hofmann tallies lone goal for Golden Flashes.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Kent State field hockey team lost a 7-1 decision to No. 2 Syracuse Sunday (Sept. 16) at Syracuse's J.S. Coyne Stadium.
The Golden Flashes (4-5) split a pair of weekend contests in Central New York, downing Villanova, 6-4, Saturday (Sept. 16) before falling to the Orange (7-0).
Sophomore midfielder/forward Julia Hofmann (Bad Muenster, Germany) tallied Kent State's lone goal four minutes into the second half off of a corner thanks to assists from junior midfielder Alyssa McFerren (Gibbsboro, N.J.) and junior defender Sabrina Binder (Krefeld, Germany). Hofmann's goal was her team-high seventh of the 2012 season.
Kent State makes the drive south to Columbus to battle Ohio State Wednesday (Sept. 19) at 3 p.m.
