Kent State Men's Basketball Looks to Bounce Back at Ball State on Saturday

THE GAME
Kent State (9-6, 0-1) seeks its first Mid-American Conference win of the season on Saturday as the team visits Ball State (7-6, 1-0). The Golden Flashes will try to avoid beginning conference play 0-2 for the first time since the 1996-97 season.
Wednesday night's 70-58 loss to Toledo in the conference opener snapped a 31-game winning streak against MAC West Division opponents.
As a team, Kent State enters the contest ranking 3rd in the MAC in scoring (70.5), scoring margin (+2.7), turnover margin (+2.53), and offensive rebounding (13.1).
Senior Chris Evans is among the most versatile players in the MAC this season, leading Kent State in scoring (16.7), rebounding (7.5), steals (28), and blocks (11). Evans, who ranks 2nd in the MAC in scoring, is 2nd on the team in 3-pointers (20) and 3rd in assists (23).
Fellow senior Randal Holt is 9th in the MAC in scoring (13.2) and needs 11 points to crack the top 20 on the school's all-time scoring list. Holt has made a 3-pointer in each game this season and is 2nd in the MAC. Ball State enters with two straight wins coming on its final possession of the game. The Cardinals opened MAC play with a 60-58 win over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday.
Junior Jesse Berry is the team's top scorer (13.8) and was named MAC West Division Player of the Week after scoring 21 points against Norfolk State a week ago.
Junior Majok Majok is one of just18 players in the nation averaging a double-double (10.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg).
