Golden Flashes Suffer 91-44 Defeat at Central Michigan

Mt Pleasant, Mich. – Kent State (2-18, 0-7) wasn't able to pick up their first conference or road win against a Central Michigan (13-7, 7-0) team that sits undefeated in Mid-American Conference play.
The Flashes were able to keep the game within range at the start, not allowing the Chippewas to get more than nine points ahead all the way until 8:35 until halftime. However, Central Michigan stepped on the gas and went on a 26-4 run to close the first half of play.
Kent State shot 36.5% in the game, including 43.5% in the first half, but turned the ball over 24 times resulting in 34 Central Michigan points. The Flashes also shot a season-low 33.3% at the foul line in nine attempts.
The Chippewas made more than half their shots in the game, sinking 51.6% including 11 shots from beyond the arc. They also had 19 steals.
Tamzin Barroilhet was two rebounds short of a double-double, finishing with ten points, eight rebounds and two steals. Heather Bachman matched her with ten points, six of those in the first half. Bachman also had six rebounds.
Four players for Central Michigan reached double-digits in scoring. Jalisa Olive had a game-high 13 points, including three three-pointers. Jas'Mine Bracey scored 11, and Crystal Bradford and Taylor Johnson both netted ten apiece.
Kent State remains on the road as they travel to Ohio on Sunday (Feb. 3) at 2:00 pm. Both teams are looking for their first conference win.
