KENT, Ohio – In the final home game of the regular season, the Kent State women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sunday at Zoeller Field.

The loss drops the Golden Flashes to 10-6 overall with a 5-3-0 mark in the Mid-American Conference, while the Eagles improve to 9-6-1 overall and 6-2-0 in the league.

After a scoreless first half where each team tallied seven shots, including two on goal, the Eagles found the back of the net just 12 minutes into the second period. Bianca Rossi accepted a pass from Cara Cutaia and shot it high and into the left corner past goalkeeper Stephanie Senn to take a 1-0 lead.

Then, in the 80^th minute, a Kent State foul in the box resulted in not only a penalty kick for EMU, but also a red card for Kent State that had the team playing a man down for the remainder of the game. Eastern Michigan's Angela Vultaggio blasted a shot that Senn made a diving save to stop, but Vultaggio collected the rebound and put it in to increase the Eagles' lead to 2-0.

Kent State ended the game with a 19-15 advantage in shots, but the Eagles won the corner kick battle, 7-3. Senn picked up five saves in her 90 minutes of play, and EMU goalkeeper Megan McCabe earned five as well.

The Golden Flashes will now hit the road for their final three regular season games. Kent State will match-up with Northern Illinois (7 p.m.) on Friday, Oct. 25, followed by a game against Toledo(1 p.m.) on Sunday, Oct. 27.
