Playing its second nationally-televised game in three days, Kent State will look to show that it's a team capable of playing deep into March when it plays at Seton Hall on Wednesday evening.

It will be the second consecutive challenging road contest for the Golden Flashes, who avenged a loss to Temple a year ago by going into the Liacouras Center and spoiling the Owl's home opener with an 81-77 victory on Monday to kickoff ESPN's Tip-Off Marathon. The Flashes trailed most of the night, but refused to let the Owls pull away and used a late 18-4 run to lead by as much as six points in the final minute.

Juniors Derek Jackson and Devareaux Manley paced the offense with 17 points and three 3-pointers apiece, as the Flashes made 11-of-22 long range shots on the night. Senior Darren Goodson (12 points) and sophomore Kellon Thomas (11 points) joined them in double-figures, as the Flashes featured a balanced attack that saw 10 players score.

Third-year head coach Rob Senderoff stressed defensive during the off-season, and his squad has shown improvements on that end of the floor. The Flashes allowed just 49 points to open the season against Ohio Northern and are hold opponents to .a 388 shooting percentage trhough two games.

Seton Hall outlasted Niagara, 83-72, on Saturday in their lone game of the season. Guard Sterling Gibbs led the way with 23 points off the bench in his debut with the Pirates. Forwards Brandon Mobley (14 points) and Patrik Auda (11 points) also reached double-figures in a game that featured 73 fouls and 102 foul shots. Head coach Kevin Willard is 20-2 in non-conference home games, which includes 16 consecutive wins.
