Kent State Volleyball Drops Match at Ohio, Returns Home for Senior Night Saturday

ATHENS, Ohio –Kent State set out Thursday evening looking to secure a spot in next week's Mid-American Conference Tournament and become the only team to defeat East Division champion Ohio twice, but was sent away with a 3-0 loss to the host Bobcats (13-25, 15-25, 17-25).
Juniors Liz Reikow and junior Lauren Engleman and sophomore Bridget Wilhelm led the Flashes with eight kills each, while senior Aleksandra Nowak 27 assists and a team-best eight digs. Engleman tallied three blocks to lead the team with 10.5 points in the match.
While Kent State struggled to put shots away, hitting just .146, the Bobcats' hitters were on target throughout the match. Ohio hit better than .400 in two of the three sets and .391 overall.
Kent State concludes the regular season Saturday night in front of its home crowd at the M.A.C. Center against Eastern Michigan. Saturday will be Senior Night for the Flashes and senior captains Aleksandra Nowak and Hannah Herc will be honored following the match, which will begin at 7 p.m.
