No. 22 Golden Flashes Prepare for Their Final Home Meet

KENT, Ohio --
The Kent State Gymnastics will look to extend its winning streak to 12 this Friday, March 15, when they host Southeast Missouri State, New Hampshire, and Cornell for a quad meet. Competition is set to begin at the M.A.C. Center at 7 p.m. This will be the No. 22 Golden Flashes' final home meet of the year before they travel for the MAC Championships next week at Western Michigan University.
The Golden Flashes are coming off an impressive performance at the Eagle Invite last weekend where they beat host Eastern Michigan, as well as Air Force and Alaska-Anchorage, and finishing with a score of 195.275. Leading the way for the Golden Flashes' was sophomore Whitnee Johnson (Columbia, Mo.). She took first place in the all-around with a score of 39.050 and put on her best performance of the night on the vault, where she scored a 9.850.
Scouting Southeast Missouri State
The Redhawks (4-5) are coming off a victory over Texas Woman's University and are currently on a two match win streak after losing their previous five meets. Senior Taylor Westrick (Waterford, Wis.) lead the way once again by claiming first place on the bars, scoring a 9.825, and also earning first place on beam, with a 9.850.
Southeast Missouri State Series History
The Golden Flashes hold a 3-1 series lead over the Redhawks, with their only victory coming in 1996. The last meeting took place in 2009 in Kent with the Golden Flashes winning the matchup 196.025-194.075.
Scouting New Hampshire
The Wildcats (15-6) are coming off a second place finish in a quad meet with Penn State, Penn, and Temple. New Hampshire scored a 194.225, behind only host Penn State who won the event
New Hampshire Series History
New Hampshire holds a 9-7 lead in the series. Kent State, however, has won five of the last six meetings, with the last one taking place in 1998, a 191.475-189.250 victory for the Golden Flashes.
Scouting Cornell
Cornell finished second among four teams at the Southern Connecticut State quad meet on Sunday.The Big Red finished with a team score of 191.675, just behind Brown (192.000) but clear of SCSU (191.025) and West Chester (186.425).

The Golden Flashes have never lost to Cornell, holding a 5-0 all time record against the Big Red. The last meeting took place last year where Kent State won 196.025-192.425.
