Ramsey Earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors

The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that Kent State's Missy Ramsey was voted as the Defensive Player of the Week by all conference head coaches.
Ramsey has been a huge addition to Kent State's defense after making the switch from forward this season. The senior had one of the plays of the day in the win at Miami on Saturday. In a scoreless tie, a RedHawk was on a breakaway and had the Golden Flashes' goalkeeper beat, but Ramsey made a diving stop on her knees for a defensive save that ultimately helped give Kent State a 2-1 win. Ramsey also had a shot on goal in the game and played nearly the entire match with 63 minutes on the turf.
Ramsey and the Golden Flashes return home to face two MAC foes this weekend when they host Ball State on Saturday and Longwood on Sunday.
