Faulkner's Big Weekend Awarded With MAC Honors

The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that Kent State's Hannah Faulkner was named the Offensive Player of the Week for her impressive display this past weekend.
Faulkner had five goals and ten points in two MAC games to help give the Golden Flashes at least a share of the regular season title entering the final weekend of play. On Saturday's senior day, Kent State found itself tied 1-1 with Ball State at the half, but Faulkner led the way as the Flashes scored 5 goals in the second half to grab the outright lead in the conference. The senior had a career-high four goals in the game on nine shots; only one of those shots didn't come on goal. She also had the game-winner the following day in a 1-0 win over Longwood.
Faulkner has now scored in 8-straight games, tying the second longest streak in Kent State history; she shares that with All-American Debbie Bell. She now is ranked 5th in the nation in goals per game and 6th in points per game. Faulkner also recieved Kent State Student-Athlete of the Week honors for her performance.
