Soccer Concludes Regular Season at Ohio on Thursday

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team will travel to Athens for a Mid-American Conference game vs. Ohio University to close out the regular season schedule. The Golden Flashes (9-6-3, 4-4-2 MAC) and Bobcats (6-12-0, 3-7-0 MAC) are scheduled to kick-off at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30. Live stats will be provided on www.ohiobobcats.com and live in-game updates can be found by following @KentStSoccer on Twitter.
KENT STATE'S LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Flashes defeated the Toledo Rockets, 3-0, last Friday afternoon, but lost to Central Michigan, 1-0, on Sunday. Sophomore Jenna Hellstrom scored Kent State's first goal 28:300 into the game, and senior Stephanie Haugh followed with two in the second period. Hellstrom also added an assist to Haugh's first goal. Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Senn earned her seventh shutout of the season in the win.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Hellstrom leads Kent State in scoring with 18 points on six goals and six assists. Her six assists leads the Mid-American Conference, while her 18 points ranks third in the MAC.  Haugh is close behind with 13 points on four goals and five assists and rookie Karli Paracca has seven points on three goals and an assist.Â
Senn has started all 18 games in goal for the Golden Flashes and has allowed 14 goals (0.74 gaa) and has combined for 84 saves (.857).  Her seven shutouts ranks second in the MAC, while her saves ranks fourth.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio is currently on a five-game skid, including losses to both Toledo (3-1) and Central Michigan (3-0) last weekend. Sophomore Alexis Milesky is leading the Bobcat offense with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Five of the Bobcats have scored two goals, while the team has tallied 18 this season.
Goalkeeper Nicole Amari has competed in 17 games and has a 6-10-0 record. She has allowed 29 goals (1.70 gaa) has 89 saves (.754) and has four shutouts this season. Ohio is being outscored 32-18 by opponents.
THE RECORDS
The Golden Flashes and Bobcats are meeting for the 22nd time, but Ohio leads the all-time series, 12-8-1. However, Kent State has been victorious in the last four meetings, including a 2-1 win last season.
