Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University women's soccer team has earned a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
"We are pleased to once again earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award as it shows how hard our student-athletes are working off the field in addition to their on-field efforts," said Head Coach Rob Marinaro. "Our academic support staff does a wonderful job and we are thankful for all of their great work."
The Golden Flashes posted a 3.36 team GPA during the 2013-14 academic year. It is the fifth consecutive year Kent State has been recognized for its academic achievement with the award.
Kent State was one of 587 women's soccer teams (all divisions) and eight Mid-American Conference squads to earn the honor.
The Golden Flashes are coming off a 10-7-3 season with a 5-4-2 mark in MAC play to finish third in the east division.
