Golden Flashes Back in Action Saturday at Ohio

Kent State (15-13, 6-9) looks to begin the month of March with a victory when it travels to Ohio for a 2 p.m. contest Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes will try to avenge a 59-53 loss to the Bobcats at the M.A.C. Center back on January 8 to open Mid-American Conference play.
Guard Kris Brewer (14 points, 3 assists) and forward Mark Henniger (10 points, 6 rebounds) played well in their return to the starting lineup at Bowling Green on Wednesday. Brewer continued his strong play in road games, as he averages 16.5 points while shooting 43.1 percent from the three-point line and 79.2 percent from the foul line in games played away from Kent.
Guard Devareaux Manley (9.5 ppg) stayed hot as he made 4-of-9 three-pointers on his way to a team-high 16 points. Manley, Brewer and guard Derek Jackson (11.1 ppg) have helped the Flashes lead the MAC in three-point shooting (.349) and rank second in three-pointers (7.5/gm). The trio has combined to make 140 three-pointers on the season.
Ohio (19-9, 9-6) is trying to secure a bye straight to The Q for the upcoming MAC Tournament. The Bobcats, who are tied with Akron for the No. 4 seed, will loo to avoid dropping two straight conference games for the first time this season after losing to Buffalo on Wednesday, 69-64.
Guard Nick Kellogg (15.4 ppg) and forward Maurice Ndour (14.6 ppg) provide the Bobcats with the second-highest scoring inside-outside combo in the MAC. Kellogg is one of the league's top shooters and leads the MAC in free throw percentage (.883) and three-pointers (2.4/gm) while shooting better than 40 percent from the three-point line.
Ndour averages 7.0 rebound and 1.8 blocks to lead Ohio in both categories. Forward Jon Smith also blocks 1.8 shots per game and adds 6.3 rebounds per game. Guard Travis Wilkins stepped up in recent weeks and is averaging 11.7 points and shooting 58-.6 percent (17-for-29) from the three-point line over the past six games.
