Ramos Named to MAC All-Tournament Team

AKRON, Ohio — Kent State junior outfielder Dani Ramos earned 2014 Mid-American Conference Softball Championships all-tournament team honors, the conference announced following the championship game on Saturday (May 10).

In three tournament games, Ramos hit .455 (5-for-11) with a walk, a triple, a stolen base and run scored. She scored the Golden Flashes' lone run after hitting a triple to reach base in Friday's season-ending loss to Central Michigan. The triple was her sixth of the season, which is two off the school record and ranks third on the Kent State single-season list.

Ramos' best offensive performance came in the opening game of the tournament when she went 3-for-3 against tournament MVP Savannah Jo Dorsey from Ohio. She was one of only two players to collect multiple hits off Dorsey in a game. The Golden Flashes were also the only team to score a run against Dorsey over four games.

Kent State finished the season with a 25-20 record and was among the final six teams standing at the conference tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
