Weekday MACtion
All four of Kent State's November games are on a weekday. From Oct. 29 through November, MACtion can be seen on a Tuesday through Friday for 20 different conference games.
Kent State-Ohio Ties
• Thirteen players on Kent State's roster, including four Florida natives, had a high school teammate that now plays at Ohio.
• Flashes defensive coordinator Brian George and running backs coach Mark Spencer were teammates in Ohio's backfield from 1991-93.
Last Time on the Road
Kent State's 15-10 win at UMass was its first road win since 2013, snapping an eight-game road losing skid. It was the first program victory over UMass. The win also gave the Flashes their first three-game winning streak against the East Division since 2012.
The Golden Flashes' defense held UMass to 171 yards passing, under half of the Minutemen's average on the season (358.2) heading into the game. UMass was also held 202 yards under its total yard average prior to the game.
Fourth Quarter Troubles
Although the Flashes have outscored opponents 39-31 in the third quarter, the final period has been a much different story as opponents have outscored Kent State 62-8. The Flashes have not scored a fourth quarter touchdown in nine games.
Controlling the Clock
The Flashes held an opponent to under 100 yards rushing (86) for the third time this season at UMass. By more than doubling the Minutemen's output on the ground (192 yds), Kent State was able to hold a 13-minute edge in time of possession.
• When holding a 10-6 halftime lead against Buffalo, the Flashes held a 5:16 advantage in time of possession. But the Bulls' comeback included a 12:58 edge in time of possession during the second half.
Take Advantage of Turnovers
At Toledo, Ryan Seibert scored his first career touchdown with a fumble recovery in the end zone. Along with Nate Terhune and Demetrius Monday fumble recoveries for scores, Kent State is fourth in the FBS with four defensive touchdowns, following a 69-yard interception return by Monday.
