The Kent State gymnastics team will host its annual "Flip for the Cure" meet as the Golden Flashes (4-6, 1-3 MAC) take on the George Washington Colonials on Sunday, March 1st at 1pm in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
Admission for the Flip for the Cure is $5 for general admissions.
The Meet ...
Since beginning back in 2008, the Flip For the Cure event has become a marquee event both on campus and in the community to unite people in helping women in the area defeat the deadly disease.
Over the past six years, Kent State has raised over $25,000 to help organizations in their efforts to assist those suffering from breast cancer. The proceeds from the "Flip for the Cure" go to the COSA Comprehensive Breast Center - COSA CARES program.
The gymnastics team relies on local merchants to donate items, which are assembled into raffle baskets; the squad also sells t-shirts to help raise funds as well as awareness.
Along with raffle baskets and t-shirts, there will be a Pinkest fan competition, breast cancer survivor recognition, along with various other promotions and activities.
