Pascoe Scores Twice Giving Flashes 3-2 OT Win Over Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio- Junior Hayden Pascoe netted two goals, including the overtime golden-goal as Kent State soccer defeated Ohio 3-2 from Chessa Field Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Golden Flashes finish the regular season with a record of 12-2-2 (8-1-2 MAC) while the Bobcats fall to 5-12-1 (3-8-0 MAC).

The Bobcats started off the match with an aggressive attack and converted a corner kick into a goal in the 18th minute of the match. Mollie Whitacre played the corner to the back post where freshman Alivia Milesky found space and put the ball into the back of net.

Kent State would answer with a goal of their own just minutes before halftime. Senior forward Morgan Williams got loose in the box and ripped a shot passed the Bobcats' keeper for her second-career goal and first of the season.

Each team's goalie came up with two saves in the first half, as the scored remained tied at 1-1 heading into the second period.

Ohio retook the lead in the 53rd minute as Sydney Leckie found a cutting Madelyn Kah who was able to find the back of the net.

It took just two minutes for the Golden Flashes to get the equalizer as Kristen Brots crossed the ball to the back post where Hayden Pascoe met it with her head, beating the Ohio keeper for third goal of the season. Brots picked up her second assist of the season on the play.

A defensive battle ensued for the remainder of regulation sending the match into overtime tied at 2-2.

Ashelah McDonald kept the Golden Flashes hopes alive coming up with a save five minutes into the overtime period.

With just seconds remaining in the first overtime period, Pascoe found space outside the 18-yard box and struck the ball into the upper left corner of the net for her second-career game-winning goal.

McDonald made a total of four saves in the match, improving her record to 11-2-2 this season.

Kent State clinched the number two seed in the MAC Tournament and will host Eastern Michigan in a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. from inside Dix Stadium.
