KENT, Ohio - The Kent State University men's basketball team will look to take its sixth win of the season Wednesday while hosting the Niagara Purple Eagles in the M.A.C. Center at 7 p.m.

-Â Â Â Â The Kent State Golden Flashes enter the second game of their four-game homestand Wednesday following an 86-57 win over Grambling State this past weekend.
-Â Â Â Â The current homestand is the team's longest of the season. The team returned from its last road trip on the evening of Nov. 27 and will not play another road game until they face Oregon State on Dec. 21.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Flashes will end nonconference play at the end of the month on the road against Oregon State and Texas.Â
-Â Â Â Â This will be the 11th matchup between the Flashes and Purple Eagles
-Â Â Â Â Niagara holds a 3-7 all-time advantage in a series that dates back to Feb. 2, 1957. However, Kent State has won three of the last four games against Niagara, in games ranging from 1987-2013.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Flashes won the last matchup between the two teams on Nov. 23, 2013 in Kent, 102-97. It is the most points a Rob Senderoff led team has scored against a Division I opponent. Mark Henniger led with 20 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field and 8-of-8 from the foul line. He also grabbed five rebounds.
-Â Â Â Â Niagara is 2-6 on the season but carries momentum going into Wednesday's matchup. The Purple Eagles are fresh off a win over MAAC favorites Iona on the road, 74-58. The squad also has a win over Drexel at home, 93-74.Â
-Â Â Â Â After Wednesday, seven of Niagara's nine games will have been on the road.Â
-Â Â Â Â Matt Scott leads Niagara in scoring at 19.4 points per game, along with 31 total assists.Â
-Â Â Â Â Niagara is led by Chris Casey in his fourth season, after previously leading teams at LIU-Post and Rutgers-Newark.Â
