Women's T&F Has Good Showing on Final Day of Akron Invitational

Akron, Ohio – The Kent State women's track and field team had a good showing on the final day of the Akron Invitational inside Stile Athletics Field House.
Taylor Farquhar was the highlight of the day, winning the 400-meter dash gold division with a time of 54.7. Farquhar set a personal record and passed Kia Flowers (2002, 54.93) for second all-time in Kent State history. In second place behind Farquhar was sophomore, Tyler Williams (55.34) who passed moves into fifth all-time.
Farquhar and Williams along with Jorian Ordway and Chelsea Laury took the top spot in the 4x400m relay gold division with a time of 3:42.24.
Freshman Olivia Davis took first place and set a personal record in the one mile run with a time of 5:02.88.
In the field, senior Dior Delophont took second in the high jump gold division with a mark of 1.79m (5' 10.50"). Senior Roseanne Erickson also came away with a second place finish, hers coming in the long jump with a mark of 6.06m (19' 10.75").
Morgan Estes placed third and tied her indoor personal record in the pole vault gold division at 4.1m 13' 5.25").
Up next for the women's team is the Spire Invitational in Geneva, Ohio on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13.
