Softball Heads to Bowling Green for Final MAC Road Series

Kent State (29-18, 11-6 MAC) travels to the western part of the state this weekend for its final Mid-American Conference road series when it takes on Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday with Saturday's doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Golden Flashes split a doubleheader with Youngstown State on Wednesday at the Diamond at Dix, falling 7-6 in game one and winning the second game, 3-2.
In Kent State's Game 2 win, the Flashes took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning behind two-out RBI base hits by seniors Arika Roush and Michele Duffy.
Sophomore Emily Dobbin was effective out of the bullpen, throwing five innings of scoreless ball and picking up her second win of the season. Junior Ronnie Ladines recorded her third save of the season, allowing only one run in the seventh inning.
Kent State swung the bats well in the first game, but Youngstown State came through with timely hits in the top of the seventh inning to propel the Penguins to a 7-6 victory.
Ladines continued her hot hitting, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk, and a two-run home run. Ladines finished Kent State's seven game home stand going 9-for-18 with 2 doubles, 1 home run, and 6 RBIs. Senior Nicki Cregan also picked up her first career double, which she poked down the right field line to pick up 2 RBIs.
Scouting Bowling Green (18-30, 6-11 MAC)
• Bowling Green was swept by rival Toledo in a non-conference midweek doubleheader on Wednesday losing 2-1 and 6-2.
• The Falcons have only won two of six MAC series this year, taking two of three from Eastern Michigan and sweeping a shortened two-game series from Central Michigan.
