Women's basketball Head Coach Todd Starkey has completed the hiring of his staff as the team prepares for the 2016-17 season.
Joining the Golden Flashes are assistant coaches Fran Recchia and Morgan Toles and Director of Basketball Operations Alison Seberger.
Recchia was previously an assistant at Radford, holding that position since May 2013. She was the program's recruiting coordinator while also serving the team in wing player development, scouting, academics and compliance. Recchia helped the Highlanders achieve an 18-13 overall record and 13-7 conference mark this past season. She guided two students to All-Conference honors while mentoring the school's career record holder in three-pointers.
Before her most current stint at Radford, Recchia was the top assistant at Tusculum College. Prior to that, she had her first stop at Radford after being the head coach at Williams Byrd High School in Virginia before entering the college ranks. Recchia received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Virginia Tech in 2004 where she played for the Hokies, including four 20-win seasons. She received a master's degree in education in 2006 while serving as a graduate assistant at her alma mater.
Toles comes from Florida State where she filled the role as graduate assistant since 2013 after suiting up for the Seminoles for her senior year and part of her junior season. She was the team's co-captain in her final year, led the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio and helped FSU advance in the NCAA Tournament. Before transferring to Florida State she played at Auburn where she was a two-year starter. Toles racked up numerous academic honors while working towards a bachelor's degree in social science. She completed her master's degree in sports management in the spring of 2016.
Seberger rejoins the Division I ranks after being an assistant coach at Lenior-Rhyne University beginning in 2014. Her duties at Lenior-Rhyne included coordinating travel, overseeing the team management staff, fulfilling recruiting and compliance needs, directing game day operations, managing the team's community outreach efforts, serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and other coaching functions. Seberger played from 2010-2014 at Illinois State where she served as the team captain in her final season and earned numerous academic and leadership accolades. Throughout her playing years, she coached an AAU team, completed an internship in marketing and was a Illinois State camp counselor and university marketing representative. Seberger has a bachelor's degree in communication studies from Illinois State and completed a master's degree in leadership this past spring.
Recchia, Toles and Seberger join Starkey's staff along with Patrick Mashuda, who was previously announced as a fellow assistant coach.
