KENT, Ohio – Kent State seniors Kristen Brots and Jaime Eiben were named to the All-Tournament Team for the 2017 Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, the conference announced following the championship game on Sunday (Nov. 5).
Brots recorded an assist in Kent State's lone goal of the semifinal setback against Bowling Green, and led the Flashes offense with four shots. This is the second All-Tournament honor for the Naperville, Illinois native. Last year in the MAC Tournament Championship she netted the game winning goal in the 85th minute to beat Northern Illinois, and lifted Kent State to its first tournament championship in program history. This season she also set a career-high with four goals.
Eiben played a key role in the Golden Flashes defense by holding Ohio to one goal in a double-overtime match against Ohio in the quarterfinal round. She and the Golden Flashes defense only allowed 18 shots in their two MAC Tournament matches. Eiben was named to the All-MAC Second Team this season for the first time in her career and played the third-most minutes on the team (1930). The defense tied a program record with 11 shutouts on the campaign.
Brots and Eiben are part of a senior class that finished their careers with a 49-22-10 record with a MAC Regular Season (2017) and Tournament Championship (2016). The class also made the program's first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and won the MAC East Division Title in back-to-back seasons.
The Golden Flashes finished this year with their seventh consecutive season of winning at least 10 games and seventh consecutive MAC Tournament appearance.
