-Â Â Â Â The Kent State University men's basketball team begins its road slate this week at No. 13 Xavier in the Cintas Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Flashes enter the evening on a two-game winning streak. The momentum began to build on the road last week when the Flashes took down Norfolk State, 79-70. Kent State returned home Saturday to host local rival Cleveland State, earning a 72-62 victory.Â
-Â Â Â Â Adonis De La Rosa has led the charge over the last two games, averaging a team-best 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 17-for-19 at the foul line. Kent State has been without Jaylin Walker for both games due to a lower leg injury.Â
-Â Â Â Â After facing the nation's 13th ranked team Wednesday, the Flashes will stay on the road to play Wright State Saturday at 3 p.m., hoping to avenge an early season loss last year. Kent State will return home Dec. 18 and 21, facing Northeastern and Oregon State.Â
-Â Â Â Â Kent State is 4-13 all time against Xavier, with the all-time series dormant since Rob Senderoff's first season in 2012-13. Kent State's last win over Xavier came on Jan. 17, 1989, with the Flashes coming out ahead, 90-71. Kent State has nine wins over current BIG EAST teams, with wins over Butler, Creighton, Marquette and Villanova.Â
-Â Â Â Â Wednesday's game at Xavier is the program's most high profile opponent in a true road game since the team went to the University of Texas last year. On Dec. 27, 2016, the Flashes came away with a 63-58 victory.Â
-Â Â Â Â Xavier enters the game at 7-1, with huge wins this season over Baylor, 73-63, and most recently Cincinnati, 89-76. KenPom.com ranks their offensive efficiency at 3rd in the nation (118.2).Â
-Â Â Â Â Chris Mack is in his ninth year at the helm for Xavier. He is a 1992 graduate of the university. His teams have made the NCAA Tournament in seven of eight seasons.Â
