- The Kent State University men's basketball team will play its final home non-conference game Thursday against Oregon State at 7 p.m.
- The game marks the first time a Pac-12 team has competed inside the M.A.C. Center. The Flashes welcome the Beavers as part of a home and home agreement. Kent State played in Corvallis last season and will make a return trip in 2018.
- The Golden Flashes are looking to end its recent skid and build momentum headed into conference season. The Flashes are fresh off a loss earlier in the week to Northeastern, 81-69.
- After Thursday, the Flashes will take a short holiday break before returning to action against Albany on the road to end non-conference season. The Mid-American Conference slate begin Jan. 2 at Northern Illinois. The Flashes' next home game is slated for Jan. 6 against Central Michigan.
- The last time the Flashes hosted a power conference opponent in a regular season game came on Dec. 16, 1978, when Kent State hosted No. 18 Illinois. The highest ranked team to ever play in the M.A.C. Center was No. 2 Loyola Chicago in 1963.
- This is just the third game, all-time, between Kent State and Oregon State. The Flashes dropped last year's matchup against Oregon State, 69-50.
- The lone matchup prior to that took place on Dec. 29, 1997 in Hilo, Hawaii. The Beavers took the victory, 76-68. The game was part of the Hilo Holiday Shootout.
- Kent State has claimed two victories against current Pac-12 schools in program history, both in the 1960's, over Arizona State and Utah.
- Oregon State enters Thursday's game at 8-3 and is currently on a six game winning streak.
- Head coach Wayne Tinkle is in his third season in Corvallis. He took the position in 2014 after leading Montana to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
