-Â Â Â Â The Kent State University men's basketball team plays its final game before finals week Saturday, taking on the Wright State Raiders Saturday in the Nutter Center.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Golden Flashes enter the game at 5-4, but winners in two of their last three games. Since Nov. 29, Kent State has won a road game over Norfolk State, 79-70, and a home game vs. local rival Cleveland State, 72-62.Â
-Â Â Â Â In its most recent result, Kent State travelled to Cincinnati to face one of the nation's best teams, No. 13 Xavier. While playing the Musketeers close in the first half, the Flashes fell, 96-70.Â
-Â Â Â Â Over the last three games, Kent State has been without its leading scorer and preseason All-MAC guard, Jaylin Walker. Suffering a lower leg injury, Walker is considered day-to-day.Â
-Â Â Â Â In Walker's absence, Jalen Avery has emerged as the team's leading scorer over three games at 15.3 points per game. He is shooting 55.2 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from 3-point range. Kevin Zabo is right behind him at 14.7 points per game.Â
-Â Â Â Â After Saturday, Kent State will return to campus for final exam week. The following week, Kent State will welcome Northeastern (Dec. 18) and Oregon State (Dec. 21) to the M.A.C. Center. Kent State ends nonconference play against Albany on the road Dec. 28.Â
-Â Â Â Â The Flashes are 2-2 all-time against the Raiders, having defeated them twice in Kent, first in 1974 (87-78) and again in 1990 (108-95). The first win for Wright State came on Feb. 2, 1991 in Dayton, Ohio, 62-61. Last season, the Raiders picked up a win in Kent, 68-63.Â
-Â Â Â Â Wright State is 5-4, but 5-1 over the last six games. It's top win came over Fairfield, 57-56. In their last outing, the Raiders defeated Ohio Valley, 98-68. The Raiders are young, relying on a pair of productive freshman in Loudon Love and Everett Winchester.Â
-Â Â Â Â Scott Nagy is in his second season with Wright State after 21 seasons with South Dakota State.Â
